Team Building and Teamwork:
Creating Common Focus
 |
Teams are the foundation of organizational success. Whether an action team, advisory team, or a management team, there is one characteristic that is key to success-teamwork. Effective teams distinguish themselves by a shared commitment to common objectives. |
In this workshop, we'll explore breakdowns in teamwork and proven methods to build teams. Breakdowns in teamwork come at both the individual and team level. Individuals can adversely affect the team's performance by putting their own objectives before those of the team. Groups who are in the same department or working on the same assignment are examined and given the tools needed to become effective common-goal-oriented-teams. Individual teams operating in silos also cause adverse affects. These "Silo Teams" do not direct their efforts to the common goals and objectives of the organization and thus adversely affect the largest team of all, the organization itself.
The Tuckman Team Building Model (Forming-Storming-Norming-Performing) created by Dr. Bruce Tuckman is introduced and used to develop your internal team building process. Using team bonding exercises and processes develop in the workshop specifically by your organization for your organization, will start the building of Common Focus.
